Developer tricks

This (attached) is the little module that we developed during this session.  And a few notes:

  • PHPEd is the IDE (integrated development environment) that I use.  There are lots of others out there: Komodo, PHP Eclipse, Zend.  Just google "PHP IDE".
  • TortoiseSVN is the Subversion client I use.  It is sadly Windows-only.  But there are also lots of SVN clients out there.
  • http://api.drupal.org is where to go to learn about the functions that are available if you get involved with Drupal development.
  • "Pro Drupal" is a great book for getting going with Drupal development.
  • Drupal is written in PHP.  Google for some PHP tutorials to get yourself going with that, if you need to get your feet wet.

Again, see attached for the module we wrote.
